Today, April 22nd, is Earth Day and we here at Ovi want to help you celebrate it! Did you know that the very first Earth Day was in 1970, exactly 40 years ago? And that to some communities it’s not just Earth Day; they celebrate Earth Week, which is an entire week of activities focused on environmental issues? So, how can Ovi help you be greener today (and for the rest of the year, as well)? First of all, you can check out our E Numbers app (available at Store for free) that was published only a couple of weeks ago. The app helps you know better what’s in your foods: it lists all the food additives (i.e. substances added intentionally to foodstuffs to perform certain technological functions, such as to colour, to sweeten or to help preserve foods), provides more info about them and lets you make your own lists about those substances you want to follow more closely. As the E numbers are regulated by EU and our app is based on EU definitions, it’s published only in EU countries for now.

Another cool app that’s perfect for Earth Day is our Green Explorer app (that is also free of charge). The Green Explorer is an Internet tool for learning and sharing tips about eco-firendly travel and lifestyle, so this will come in handy especially if you travel a lot and are worried about what kind of an impact traveling has on the environment. The Green Explorer can basically help you make your trips a little greener. You can even take your favourite content along on your mobile when you’re offline (e.g. in a airplane).
