In the past month global sensation Justin Bieber has rocketed up the Ovi download chart an unbelievable 52 places to 26th place, and that’s just in January 2011, his downloads are up a whopping 350% from this time last year.

Bieber fever has gripped the world, and it’s showing no signs of letting up anytime soon with the 16 year old prodigy already being the most downloaded artist born since 1990 – according to Ovi stats. His most downloaded track is Baby, closely followed by One Time and Somebody To Love.

About to kick of his first global tour, aptly named “My World” on March 4th in the UK, he’s the youngest artist in the top 40 best selling artists of 2010 and he really is fast becoming a global phenomenon. India is leading the pack, accounting for 28% of all Bieber downloads, with China hot on it’s heels with 16% (Finland and the UK are close behind with 13 and 9% respectively). Asia can’t get enough of the boy wonder, he’s the most downloaded artist in Indonesia, the fifth most downloaded artist in Singapore and the eighth in Malaysia.

Ovi Musicologist Geoff Roberts says “Justin Bieber is no one hit wonder – he’s an up and coming star with a host of awards under his belt. Whether you like his hits or not, you can’t escape him – so watch out Lady Gaga and Rihanna, there’s a new kid on the block, whose popularity is set to surge in 2011 as he embarks on his world tour,”
