webOS 1.2 available for download!

Go ahead and fire up the updates app and get the latest juicy goodness from Palm: webOS 1.2 is now officially available! We’re downloading it now and will report back to you what we’re finding new and updated.

As a reminder, before you install webOS 1.2 or any webOS update, remove all patches and tweaks that you have applied to your Pre. While it’s not likely that you'll manage to brick your Pre, we don’t want you to have to deal with all the hassle that is resurrecting a broken webOS update.

In the meantime, we've already learned an awful lot about webOS 1.2 from the various leaks from Palm and Sprint. First there was the leak of the full webOS 1.2 ROM through an accidental posting of an updated Palm webOS Doctor that was pulled soon after. The leak quickly made its way around the intertubes and soon a video demo of the new features was posted. And then, just to make sure there was a cherry on top of the leak sundae, Sprint posted a webOS 1.2 change log, saying that the update was due out on September 8th. In lieu of an official change log from Palm we've copied Sprint's below the break. We've posted the official Palm webOS 1.2.0 changelog after the break.
