Maps.Nokia.com now comes with a new design and cool features for us to enjoy. We will be covering each of these features in detail during the coming days. For now, please enjoy this overview of our new features and design.

3D maps is one of the most talked about maps offerings in the world now.  It has been featured in the coverage of the British Royal Wedding by CNNand also in Transformers 3. Meanwhile, you asked us to add more cities to the 3D map coverage. Today we welcome three cities from the southern hemisphere to the 3D table – check out Cape Town, Melbourne and Sydney!

Heatmaps is a new feature that we are all very excited about.   It helps you to get a quick feel of a city. It shows us the best areas to eat out, shop, have a fun evening or just get around exploring the attractions of the city. Depending on your zoom level, the relevant information around a city or a neighbourhood is presented in a quick and easy manner. This feature has been rolled out for 50+ cities across five continents – check it out and tell us how you like the heat maps!

Another new feature that we have is the ‘Book a Hotel’ facility thanks to HRS. You can now search for a hotel on maps.nokia.com and if you see the ‘Book this hotel’ link it means that with one click, you can make your hotel reservation.

And of course as many of you know you can now add a review of a place that you visited and upload your pictures of that place. This way, you get to share your experience with others in our maps community.

Do try out the new features, and let us know your thoughts! We will take a closer look at the new 3D cities, heat maps and Book a Hotel feature in the coming days.
