You have to be fast now! The Ovi Maps competition is going to end next week. You can win great Nokia GPS phones by creating a story about how you use Ovi Maps and tweeting it to @OvibyNokia. Read the full blog post here.

To celebrate the competition last week I’m going to share my personal Ovi Maps thrill:

Share location is my favorite Ovi Maps feature because I love to let my friends on Facebook know where I am and what I’m up to. Yes, I love to show off :-)

When I decided to push my courage to the limit by descending for 90 meters a fixed rope in a standing position while facing the ground, I had to make sure all my friends knew about it  In fact, believe it or not, I’m not used to this kind of thrills.
To be honest, I still don’t know how I managed to do it!
But now I can say it was a fantastic experience and being able to share it on Facebook made it unforgettable.

You don’t need to do house running to share your memorable moment on Facebook with Ovi Maps.
Whenever you feel like sharing where you are and what you are up to, just use Ovi Maps. It’s really easy and so much fun!

Here’s in detail how you can share your location on Facebook

  1. Open Ovi Maps: Download and install Ovi Maps from nokia.com/maps. You can share your location directly from Ovi Maps. Just tap on the dedicated icon or menu item
  2. Add the Home Screen Widget: More easily, you can share your location from the Home Screen of your Nokia, just add the corresponding widget
  3. Select where you are: Your Nokia detects your real life location via GPS/A-GPS or network positioning. You may share the street address you are at or a meaningful place from the nearby points of interest (POIs) or a favorite place saved on your Ovi Maps
  4. Enter your status: You can also let others know what you are up to
  5. Attach a photo: To capture the moment and make it more memorable, you can also take a photo and share it with your friends
  6. Go to Facebook: Open your Facebook profile and see what you are sharing. Check out if your friends have left any comments and keep the conversation going
