Hello everyone, today I asked one of our youngest fans to tell us a bit about herself, and why she loves Ovi. Read on…

My name is Randa and I’m  17 years old :) . I’m a second year student at Djaber Ibn Hayan Secondary School Math Department.  I’m from Constantine, Algeria, North Africa. I live with my parents and my little brother, my father is a veterinarian and my mother is a doctor.

I’m a huge fan of technology and designing. I discovered my interest in them 5 years ago. I love trying new programs, new phones (if I could) and see reviews and opinions about what’s new.  Also, I design using Photoshop in my free time, mostly to update my blog or to create wallpapers for both my phone and PC, so they can reflect me:D and I study CSS each summer vacation.

You can always check my latest designs at Devianart, I update it each time I design something ;)

For the future, if everything goes well, I’m planning to be a Computer Programmer and a Web Designer (which will make me the first girl in my family who choses that) and work for a big company, and I hope to work for Nokia :D .

My first gadget was my Nokia 2650. It was the coolest phone that time and no one had it but me, I was 13 years old when I had and my mom gifted it to me :D . Months later, I received from my parents my own PC as  I needed it for school projects.   However, almost a year ago they decided to gift me a wireless connection, which made me dance all around the house, lol.

My current phone is Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. I bought it 2 years ago with my own savings after I went to the Secondary School and I love it. It’s definitely my favorite! It has everything I needed and I still need; my music, my games, my apps, internet capability and everything! With those gadgets with me, I feel so geeky and happy, thanks God.

There’s this funny thing about my parents, they have this strategy, for each techy gift they gifted me or I bought, I have to be more responsible, you see, I have to study well and get great marks or these gifts will be taken away from me, and since they know I can’t live without my phone or PC or internet connection, I’m always trying hard, especially to make them proudJ .

I’ve been using Nokia almost 5 years ago and I’ve used 3 models. Nokia 2650 was my first, Nokia 1200 my aunt’s and my current one Nokia 5800 XpressMusic which is with no doubt my favorite, but I still miss my 2650 <3.

The Nokia phone of my dream would be N8, I can’t wait until it arrives here in Algeria. If any Nokia/WP7 phones are released at that time, then I’ll go for one with no doubt :)

I’ve been using Ovi since 2008 and I haven’t stopped! I use all the services except for Maps, since there are no Maps for this region, yet. The services I use the most are Contacts, Calendar and Ovi Suite, you can’t believe how many times they saved me! Since my contacts and calendar are always in sync, when I create a to-do in my web version of Calendar on the Ovi website, it syncs automatically to my phone, so when that to-do is due soon, I get the notifications on my phone and that’s how I get to not forget about multiple homeworks!

Also, Ovi Suite helped me many times to restore contacts and calendar events to my phone when it crashes because of a bug in an application or so. These are great services that every Nokia phone owner should use J.

I really love Gravity for Twitter, Facebook, and Foursquare… It’s the first app I got when I bought my phone! Also  Skype, it saves me time emailing from my phone and texting. And the one that you should really get is the Ovi Blog app, it keeps you updated always :D .

Finally, you can find me on Twitter,  Facebook,  Flickr, Youtube and of course my blog.

I am so honored and very happy to write the guest post, I never dreamt of doing that!

Best wishes to Nokia and Ovi,  and please keep up the great work and show them what you can do ;) .

–Randa
