The past week at the Ovi Daily App, the assortment of app reviews was far ranging and eclectic – which tends to be one of the more interesting things about the content you will find in Store … there is something for everyone! So, this week, as we look back at the apps that were reviewed, we thought we might pose a few riddles to see if you can figure out the apps we were using.

First, how do you fit the entire Wikipedia in your pocket? (And, on your Nokia device?)

Easily, if you use the Wikipedia Offline Reader by San Francisco’s Wikipock. With this single app, you can take the entire text of the Wikipedia with you – wherever you might go! As our reviewer noted: “The Wikipock app puts the entire Wikipedia text base onto your mass memory module, so that retrieval of searched information is nearly instantaneous.” Now, this does require some serious memory on your device, but that trade-off might be worthwhile if you want access to this robust library of information all the time. This app is available for $14.99 (USD) in Store. If you are interested, there’s is also an online Tutorial showing some of the highlights of how to use this app.

Next: Which flies further – balloons or cannonballs?

The answer depends on which one you like better! If you like gentle, floating balloons – and want to practice your math facts! – check out Flying Balloons by FlyingBird Software. This easy-to-use app is a game, but it is also designed to help you improve your math skills with speed drills that get progressively harder as you go! Flying Balloons is available for $1.99 (USD) in Store.

On the other hand, for those who would rather shoot cannonballs at old-time style pirate ships, then get ready to take aim and fire with Cannonball HD by Polarbit. This quick video from the developers gives you a good idea of what you can expect:

The retro look and feel of this game is really quite clever, and makes the idea of blasting those ships all the more appealing! And, if you play the game on your Nokia N8, and use the HDMI connector to hook the device up to your TV, you can play it large and loud! And, this game is only $0.99 (USD) in Store.

Want one more riddle? Who creates the funniest photos using their Nokia device?

You do, when you have PhotoFun installed! With this simply photo application, you can create a variety of caricatures and silly scenes that put you – or your friends in the middle of the action. The app includes six built-in templates, and you can download a bunch of other choices online, including one where you get to be that great, green Ogre “Shrek”.

The app, from 5Pro-Software, is available for $1.99 (USD) in Store.
