Hello everyone!

As those of you who follow Nokia Conversations or other important blogs like TheNextWeb know, Ovi is the leading appstore in China with more than 65% of the population favoring Ovi Store over others. (Big shout out to all our fans in China! You guys rock!).

Given that China is an important market for Nokia (more than 250 million people are using a Nokia device there), we are constantly looking at ways to bring better content and services to them. The latest in a series of many collaborations is our new partnership with China’s two leading and largest Internet service providers, SINA and Tencent as you might have already read on TechCrunch today.

So who are these guys? For those of you who do not know yet, SINA Corporation is a leading online media company and mobile value-added service provider for China and for the global Chinese communities. More than 50 million people are using Sina’s microblog service. Tencent is one of China’s largest and most used Internet services portal. In September 2010, the active QQ user accounts for QQ IM amounted to 636.6 million while its peak simultaneous online user accounts reached 118.7 million.

So what does this mean for our Chinese users? As a result of this collaboration, users of SINA microblog and Tencent’s instant messaging community (QQ) will be able to share their location through Nokia mobile devices, check-in to locations and be able to upload location based content such as recommendations and comments of restaurants, shops and movie theaters.

I am looking forward to hear from our Chinese readers on what they think of this collaboration – are you excited, or are you excited?
