Earth Hour is not just about switching off lights for 60 minutes

On 26 March, at 8.30 pm your local time, cities, towns, organisations and people across the world will turn off lights for one hour to send a global message that it is possible to take action on global warming. This global awareness raising event, Earth Hour, is organized by WWF to express that individual action on a mass scale can help change our planet for the better.

Nokia supports Earth Hour by switching off lights in all main Nokia sites but will be taking Earth Hour beyond the hour with IdeasProject crowdsourcing challenge. We believe that by joining forces we can take things further. We challenge you and your imagination to come up with ideas on how to use mobile phones and mobile technology to benefit the planet.  Innovate, share, discuss and develop things further.  What do you wish you could do with mobile phones and applications to benefit the planet? How can mobile phones and applications help you to live more sustainable way? The idea crowdsourcing challenge starts March 25 and runs until April 14.

In addition to sharing your idea, we invite you to make a concrete commitment:  Name a concrete action in your day to day life to make our world a better place: www.earthhour.org/beyondthehour
