This will be the last week of the Nokia N8 Game A Day posts but don’t fear, we’ll continue to bring you the latest information on all of the great games available on Ovi. This week we have a title that many will be familiar with: James Cameron’s Avatar HD from Gameloft. This is an excellent game to play while you bide your time waiting for the next Avatar DVD release.

You start off just like in the movie, controlling your Avatar in the military compound on Pandora. This great tutorial will have you running, jumping, and swinging your Avatar around the stunning world of Pandora in no time. The amazing graphics give the lush environments vibrant life and, although this mobile game isn’t in 3D, you’ll still feel like you’re part of the amazing natural world of Pandora.

There are three difficulty levels (easy, medium, and hard) so the game is a challenge for all skill levels. The campaign is also fairly extensive, making this game well worth the $2.99 (USD) price tag. The loading screens are a little long, but they’re well worth it given the amount of detail put into the graphics and environments.

Note: there is a slight issue affecting some users: it appears that sometimes the game defaults to French; this is easily correctable by going to Options > Language (Langue in French) and selecting the flag for the language of your choice.

Overall Avatar is a great adaptation of the big screen movie and even those who haven’t seen the movie will find this game a very enjoyable action/adventure game. Avatar HD is available now on the Store for the Nokia N8.
