Ever since 300 blew us away on the big screen people have been looking for new ways to enjoy the Sparta story. Now there’s a new Spartan story that will blow you away on the small(er) screen – Hero of Sparta HD from Gameloft. In this epic struggle for survival you (the fierce Spartan warrior King Argos) must battle all manners of mythological beings to avoid death and re-write history.
Hero of Sparta pits you against familiar foes like Cereberus and the Cyclops as you battle your way through the Underworld in search for answers. The game environments are beautifully crafted and very immersive, making the story extremely interactive and exciting. With the Nokia N8’s multi-touch capability you can finally control your hero the way any great RPG allows – with full directional movement via the thumbstick control.
These improved movement controls along with the slick attack and defend buttons allow you to conquer hordes of creatures including scorpions, minotaurs, and all types of unearthly creatures. With three difficulties – easy, normal, and a heroic mode that is unlocked after beating the game – your journey from the deserted beach you wake up on will not be an easy one.
The graphics of Hero of Sparta are incredible on the Nokia N8’s screen, allowing for you to smile with pride each time the blood drains from your enemies decapitated heads (parents may turn these feature off using the Activity Level feature for smaller children). The music in the game makes you feel like you’re in the middle of intense battle and the in-game cut scenes look incredible (especially if you’re using the HDMI-out capability of your Nokia N8).
Hero of Sparta is available now for the Nokia N8 on the Store. Stay tuned for future announcements of upcoming compatibility with other Symbian^3 devices.
Happy Gaming,
Myles
