Hitachi making own glasses-free 3D LCD

Hitachi Display has just unveiled a prototype 3D screen for mobile devices that would not require special glasses in order to display video in three dimensions. Using the same parallax barrier and IPS technology as Sharp's recently introduced 3D LCD, the Hitachi display is smaller, at 3.1 inches. It otherwise has a resolution of 480x854 resolution and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, while brightness comes in at a high 400cd/m2....
