HTC Hero to get Android 2.1 starting April 16th?

The HTC Hero handset will be upgraded to Android 2.1 on April 16th, according to an e-mail an owner of the device received from HTC. This date applies to Hero owners who reside in Norway, Greece, Russia, the Ukraine and South Africa only, however, with the latest ROM reaching HTC handsets from other markets soon afterwards. The date potentially conflicts with an earlier leak that had Sprint upgrading the Hero to Android 2.1 on April 9th....
