Gigapan camera snaps world's largest photo at 45 gigapixels

Gigapan helped to create the world's largest digital image, at 45 gigapixels, beating out the previous record of 26 gigapixels. The image is a panorama of Dubai taken with a Canon 7D DSLR mounted on Gigapan's Epic Pro robotic mount. The recently introduced mount was used by photographer Gerald Donovan to capture nearly 4,250 individual photos over three and a half hours before stitching them together....
