Cisco responds to media center extender down time

Last weekend, Cisco's discontinued DMA2100 and DMA2200 Media Center Extenders went down for an unknown reason, and the company today has provided an explanation. While many feared Cisco had remotely disabled the boxes after they attempted to contact a non-existent server, Engadget was told that Cisco had rebooted the server for maintenance and then realized there was an issue with a certificate server.
