Palm to unveil Pixie/Eos this week?

As reported at TechCrunch, Palm’s second webOS smartphone, the Eos (codename: Pixie) will be unveiled this week. The debut will take place as part of Fashion Week in New York City. The Eos is expected to be approximately the same size and layout as the Treo Pro, though will run webOS and sport a capacitive touchscreen a touch shorter than the Pre’s. The cellular carrier the Eos will land on is still somewhat of a mystery. It has been rumored to be landing on AT&T, though there has been no conclusive evidence to support the suspicion. It is possible that the Eos may also be the Palm C40 phone spotted in Sprint’s inventory system.

The timing is just about as unusual as Palm’s launch of the Pre just days before the iPhone 3Gs became widely available. Tomorrow Apple will be putting on its annual music event where they are expected to unveil a revised iPod lineup. As always, stay tuned to PreCentral.net for all the latest.

Thanks to fresh for the tip!
