Hi everyone,
I’m Ilse, I have been previously writing about Mail and Music and today I’m going to share with you another fantastic story.

In Indonesia, thousands of people lined up to get their hands on a brand new Nokia device. Can you guess which one? They all wanted to buy a Nokia C3 with 1-click access to social networks.
As Slashgear puts it…
“The mobile-hungry people of Indonesia have shown themselves [...] willing to spend their time queuing for a new device, [...] it’s Nokia’s new budget messaging centric C3 grabbing the attention.”

The first thing that came to my mind after seeing the pictures with the huge line of people queuing to get their hands on Nokia C3 was Disney World Orlando last summer.
I was there with my husband and daughters who are very much in love with Minnie and all the princesses. As we entered, I got the feeling that all the kids in the world decided to visit the same place: there were huge queues at every attraction, which I thought will make my two toddler girls really impatient.
But, on the contrary, the girls showed me that they can queue for almost one hour if they want something really bad.
Just like with Nokia C3

Blogs and press put the popularity of the Nokia C3 down to its relatively low price for a very social device, with a physical QWERTY keyboard and quick and simple access to social networks.
It is a great way of staying in touch with friends and family via Facebook and Twitter:

A comScore report tells us that Indonesia has a high penetration of social networking usage (as many of the countries in that region) with more than 88% of its entire web population visiting a social networking sites monthly. They also show high level of engagement, with 5.4 h/visitor and 22 sessions/visitor.
This obviously leads to the conclusion that staying in touch with friends and family via social networks is a very high priority.
At the same time people are bypassing computers for internet access and using mobile devices with one click access to social networks (like Nokia C3) instead.
Indonesia has a very high mobile penetration rate (80%) which means that people do heavily rely on their mobile device.
In this picture, Nokia C3 with 1-click access to social networks represents the perfect solution.

Looking for more details on how people use social networking in Indonesia, I found out that Facebook, the most popular social networking site, has approx 20M users, which means that about 16M connect to social networking sites on their mobile phone. And what impressed me was that out of that 16M, several hundred thousand people have decided in just over 4 months from its launch to use Nokia C3 with 1-click access to their social networks.

And this is just one of the stories about Nokia C3!
In fact, there is a social fever going around also in Mexico, Colombia, Vietnam and many more countries, which is proof that people do love the Ovi powered Nokia C3 with 1 click access to social networking .

Now we want to know more about how you use your Nokia to stay in touch with your social networks, so tweet us your stories  on @OvibyNokia or leave us a comment hereafter. You can also email your stories to ilsebzimmer@ovi.com.
