Today he would like to introduce us to a very crazy initiative that will break the sound barrier. Are you ready?

Ovi, Red Bull and Felix Baumgartner

Hi, Luis here from the Services Marketing team. Ever wanted to break a world record, while the whole world watches in anticipation? In September, Felix Baumgartner will do just that, with a death defying stunt that has already got the world talking. Felix will take a helium balloon 23 miles into space and free fall with a parachute back to Earth. At that altitude, he will re-enter the Earth’s atmosphere, break the sound barrier and travel at over 690 miles an hour! No, this isn’t a science fiction movie, it’s really happening and we’re about to tell you how you can get up close and personal with Felix Baumgartner himself.

Ovi has teamed up with the adrenalin junkies Red Bull to support Felix’s mission above and beyond. Download the RedBullStratos app in the Ovi Store now! It will keep you informed of all the safety and technical measures Felix must go through prior to the jump, confirm all the records he will be breaking and link you to Felix’s personal blog, often posted from his Nokia N97 Mini.

Felix is training hard for the big day and there are some very encouraging results from Felix’s latest high-altitude jumps and step-off procedure tests. Felix has successfully done bungee jumps in the pressurised space suit to practice step-off technique and high-altitude skydives in a fully pressurised space suit for the first time!
