I still have a Euro version Nokia N96 lying around that I use every once in a while for video and photo capturing. I was using it for watching movies until the much larger display Nokia 5800 took over that role in my life. Apparently, I need to fire up the N96 again as there is a new major firmware update that looks to bring a ton of improvements and enhancements to the device. I am not sure if this firmware is available on both the Euro and NAM versions so if you have a NAM version please do let us know.

Some of the improvements in the changelog include:

• Nokia Email and MFE preloaded
• Active Standby email plug-in
• More slide handling options
• Camera image quality improvements
• Flash Lite update

If you have a Nokia N96, you should be able to use the OTA firmware functionality to check and update your device.
