Ever been in between classes or meetings when you hear the dying sound of your mobile phone, only to find that a power outlet is nowhere in sight?  Or, after a night out on the town, you bump into Mr. or Ms. Right, but…too late, your mobile battery dies and you never get their number.  You might be a busy mom or dad, and getting your kids home is proving to be impossible, because their phone is not answering, it’s out of power.

This is the inconvenient truth we wrestle with every day – power is running out.  Your mobile phone is one of the most important tools you have to connect to the things that matter to you, in your work and in your life.  Not to mention, it helps solve crimes and even saves lives.

So here is Nokia’s challenge to you:

Help solve the world’s battery drain problem. Come up with a bright idea to extend a cell phone’s battery life.  But we need you to solve this problem in a radically new way, since we have already tried so many things. Can you come up with any others?

Nokia will sponsor a “Power Drain Challenge” from 13th May 2011 to August 1st, 2011.  The top  3 best ideas will be chosen by Nokia Accessory experts.  Enter your idea to win – it can be a radical yet insightful suggestion or a fully developed formula or code. We do not limit your imagination and skills in any way. Final submissions are due on August 1st, 2011

Enter your idea here.

So what’s in it for you?

Fame. Prestige.  Not to mention some really cool prizes. The top 3 idea contestants will receive the exclusive, collector’s edition Power Pack DC-11K.  So take part today and let us know your cool ideas!
