Hi, all!
My name is Annamari Rahola-Pitkänen and I work with the Corporate Business Development team here at Nokia. I’d like to tell you about an interesting service and mobile application we introduced during the Nokia World 2010 event called the New Wellness Diary that will be available soon from Beta Labs. The service helps you to manage and improve your wellbeing by allowing and helping you to set different wellness goals (such as getting in shape), follow your progress, get immediate feedback in order to improve your wellness and view your overall trend development via different graphs.
You can share your own wellness data with your friends in different social community services. Over time the New Wellness Diary will also allow users to access various services from 3rd party wellness experts who offer more detailed feedback and coaching. Also, in the future, a lot of monitoring will be automatic. Already the Wellness Diary beta version will automatically keep track of the users’ daily activity – without the user having to do anything.
What’s wonderful about the New Wellness Diary is that it’s a holistic service. Users can flexibly choose from a number of wellness areas what they want to focus on. Users can also change their focus in the course of time – e.g. after achieving weight targets one might concentrate to stress recovery. In the Beta version you can follow-up your weight, stress, sleep, exercise, activity, diet etc. Tracking progress also requires minimum effort in Wellness Diary. Steps, for example, are counted automatically without the users having to do anything else than carrying their phones with them. Easy as it can be! The holistic approach of Wellness Diary is very useful, as wellness areas – such as stress and sleep – are often linked with each other. The benefit of Wellness Diary is that consumers can have a comprehensive view on their wellness, set and change their own individual goals with their changing needs.
The New Wellness Diary is still in development phase, and it will be available later this year for consumers to test and give feedback. Please check the New Wellness Diary page in Nokia Beta Labs and click “Add to my Favorites”. You will be notified by e-mail when the beta will be available. Please note that the Beta version will run on Symbian touch screen phones such as Nokia N8, N97 Mini, N97, X6, 5800, 5530 and 5230.
