Music Team… Assemble!

Hi everybody,

I guess I’d better introduce myself before explaining the slightly overblown title for my first post on the Blog. I’m Jean-Paul but people just call me ‘J-P’.  I’m one of the UK Music Editors for Ovi which  means I’m responsible for helping to keep the music store fresh with new music and features (I work on the UK and Ireland stores but I have fellow editors all over the world).  Music’s a big part of my life – I play it, compose it, listen to lots of different kinds of it, write about it and if I’m not doing any of those I’m probably organising something related to it.

So, “Music Team… Assemble!” – get the reference? Anyway, what am I doing here exactly? Well, you know that Ovi has a music store (and if not, here’s your chance to start discovering a whole heap of music!) but you probably don’t really know much about the people behind it. That’s all about to change because from now as we hope to bring you the thoughts and opinions of a few of the talented individuals who work behind the scenes to make Ovi one of the biggest music services in the world. But hey, it’s not just about quantity; it’s about quality too right?

And that’s where the Music Team comes in. There’re a lot of extremely passionate and creative people who work within Music at Ovi so it’s not surprising that many of us have loads to say and share when it comes to music.  Expect plenty of in-depth and entertaining musical posts from bloggers at Ovi as we let you know what turns us on and makes us tick!

Somewhere around here, I believe, one of our musical experts Nigel is going to introduce himself and kick us off with a brilliant piece he’s written on rising music star Lissie. It’s really rather good, hope you check it out.  Enjoy!
