A massive Thank You to our 30,000 Fans on Facebook!

Hi, my name is Saara, I’m in the Services Marketing Team and I’m behind the Ovi Twitter and Facebook channels. You might know me from my Ovi People interview or met me in different meet-ups.
Last week, just before Nokia World, I participated, for instance, at A Night with Ovi in London.

We’re absolutely thrilled to have a great community over at our Facebook page. Almost everyday we are surprised with the increasing levels of support, help and creativity shown by our fans. So I am very happy to announce that we have now hit a massive 30,000 fans! Wow! Although the numbers aren’t everything, the whole team is super excited by the fact that so many people want to hang out with us on Facebook!

In addition to sharing the latest news, we like to share some Ovi-related advice and tips with the community. We take Facebook serious at Ovi, which is why we spend a lot of time listening carefully to what all of you guys have to say about Ovi. We’re always really happy to receive interesting feedback, which we pass on to the various teams working on our products… And circulate it all the way to our marketing & PR teams!

The point here is: we can’t create products and services that make people happy without knowing what makes them happy first! We need to listen, and we love listening to what the community has to say. Our management also regularly follows what’s taking place on our Facebook page (and other sites)! For example, this morning I saw our Vice President of Service Marketing, Tom Libretto, sitting next to me at Nokia HQ. He was casually browsing through our Facebook page, and I couldn’t resist snagging a photo

I would also like to take our 30,000 fans milestone as an opportunity to highlight some of the people who hang out with us over on Facebook. There are so many amazing people I could name, but I’ll just mention a few:

Take Mr. Jagadesh Krishnamurthy, for example. He never hesitates to help the other users on the discussion section of our Facebook page. He puts a huge amount of thought and time into writing his insightful posts. So thanks for that Jagadesh, we also hope to continue talking with you in the future too!

Some other Facebook peeps that we’d like to mention are Nilufer Shah and Lewis Dimelow. Nilufer regularly leaves feedback, and is always polite and happy to contribute ideas. Similarly, Lewis is really friendly with the community; helping others resolve issues and pointing them in the right direction.

Jaroslaw Sroka also makes regular contibutions with his detailed ideas and stories. He’s also constantly happy to help and enthusiastic to be a part of the Ovi community.

We’ve also been enjoying some fun gaming sessions against some of you enthusiastic gamers, such as Josipa Cvelic, who has one of the highest Angry Birds scores that we’ve seen for that level! Her main competitor is Adnan Sofic, who also spends a lot of time contributing to our high score challenges with screen grabs of Angry Birds level 1-21.

Oguz Uzun also regularly enjoys beating our high scores and submitting pics! He seems to really love That Roach Game for his Nokia 5800 – We’re still trying to beat his top score of 57,651! The team is definitely up for the challenge any time, so feel free to post us your top scores for any of the games available on the Store and we’ll try to beat you
