Hello everyone, today we bring to you Udayan from India as part of our series of posts by and about our community members.

Hi Udayan, can you tell us a bit about yourself?

My name is Udayan S. Deshpande, currently residing in Bangalore. I have been travelling around different parts of the country during last 24 years.I explored around 7 cities till date(due to my dad’s job nature),i wonder ,how i lived without Ovi Maps then.

I am a Managing Partner in a Construction Company(Real Estate) and is also pursuing my Masters in IT.

I love driving, travelling and is completely addicted to technology- mainly NOKIA mobiles.I am active on Facebook and twitter, orkut is so yesterday :P

How long have you been using Nokia?

My first phone was NOKIA – yellow screen, visible antenna, don’t remember the model though. Currently I am using Nokia E72 and E52.

I had a happy journey with Nokia devices like 1100, 2370, Ngage QD, Communicator, N95, N71, N72, N73, 5230, E71, E72, E52 etc.

I even used another phone and OS  for a week but immediately shifted to 5230 due to my Nokia, symbian addiction.

The best device is used so far was E71. Only I sold it because its Maps and eMail were not as efficient as those on E72.  On E71,I missed ‘Share to Facebook’ feature in Ovi Maps also selecting multiple contacts for eMail was difficult.Well ,each device has its pros and cons.

That is an impressive Nokia history. How long you have been using Ovi?

I have been using Ovi from my 5230 days. Got to know Ovi’s potential during E71 days and exploring Ovi currently on my E72. I use Ovi services mainly on my mobile – BTW,Thanks for launching operator billing on Reliance network in India.

I mainly use Ovi Maps, a few other web maps, Gravity and many GPS applications on my Nokia. Recent application i purchased is a Led Torch Light for my E52 (I wonder, why Nokia missed this feature).

I would recommend Ovi Maps to all users. Its fabulous!!! Gravity is must for all twitter addicts :)

Why you like the most about Nokia & Ovi?

Nokia is addictive and so is Ovi. Battery life is one of the major requirement for a traveler like me. Nokia is 10 times better in this department. The only reason stopping me from buying N8 is non(easily)-removable battery. Nokia makes reliable products which are completely tested. I have never visited Nokia’s Service Center till date,Thanks Nokia!
