We wanted to give you all a heads up that the Maps team just released a new version of Ovi Maps for mobile (v3.04), now available for download over at Beta Labs.

With the Ovi Maps^Beta (v3.04) exploring new places and getting to your destination has been made easier and faster than ever. This new release is all about performance improvement.

So what exactly is new compared to the previous (v3.03) release? With this new release, you will find:

• Improved positioning speed and accuracy
• Map zooming with faster speed
• Improved search for cities with zoom out to city level

And, do remember that we just made Maps free (forever!) in over 70 countries. You can also still share your location with Maps like we also noted a while back.

So head over to Nokia Beta Labs and download the new Ovi Maps for mobile. Also, please let the team know what you think of the version over at the forum.
