White Rabbits - It's Frightening

Sometimes it can be really annoying. Sat on public transport on your way to work and hearing the tinny rattle of someones cheap headphones playing a tune that is familiar… but you just can’t make it out!  I find it hard not to burst into song just to see the reaction of said headphone wearer. Just to see whether I have played the ‘name that tune’ game correctly and have identified the track that they are listening to.  This morning the faint drum beat I could hear reminded me of a band I have just been introduced to; The White Rabbits.

No they are not a new band. And yes, I am aware that the album ‘It’s Frightening‘ was released at the beginning of last year. These things take time to be discovered (it’s like little gems hidden in the sand waiting to be found by the intrepid treasure hunter).  If you haven’t heard of them or casually noticed them last year but then sailed on by, take time out and give the album a listen.

The first song ‘Percussion Gun‘ has been on my playlist every day this week. It has an awesome drums intro that runs seamlessly throughout. Coupled with melodious harmonies and Indie 90′s lead vocals, the hook will keep this song in your head for weeks and will make it a must have addition to your playlist.  The whole album has a ‘lift me up and make me smile’ feel that will keep bringing you back over and over…”Cause I know which way to run…You’re tired my love, I feel the same”.

The White Rabbits are touring at the moment. Guys if you read this, come back to the UK soon please!
