Hello everyone,

We have made the decision to discontinue the Ovi Calendar at Ovi.com service as of August 31, 2011. Calendar on your Nokia phone will not be affected, and syncing or backup of data will continue normally. In other words, you’ll still be able to use and back up your mobile calendar on your Nokia phone, the only change will be that Web-access to your Calendar on Ovi.com will no longer be available.

We understand this is an inconvenience. As faithful users of Ovi Calendar ourselves, we have blocked out family weddings, holidays, work trips and the better half’s birthday.

Well, we’re not going to let you forget the better half’s birthday. We are committed to helping you access your calendar whenever you need to so you’ll be able to continue using the calendar on your device as normal.

First, users will have a month before the Ovi.com calendar service will be discontinued. And even after that date, you’ll be able to easily export your synced Calendar data to your personal computer at any time.

Secondly, if you would like to continue using a Web-based calendar experience, here’s how you can export your calendar to great services from Windows Live, , Google or Yahoo.

Visit calendar.ovi.com from your personal computer.

Login to your ovi account.

If the service is still available look for the red message just below the header bar of the page. Click the “more information and export” link.

If the service has already shut down you will be taken straight to the page you need.

Confirm the email address you would like your calendar data sent too, and click Export.
